Air conditioning

Central air conditioning installation, replacement, and repair. If your system quit on the hottest day of the year, that is an emergency call and we treat it as one. If it is limping and you are deciding whether to repair or replace, we will tell you honestly which one your system needs rather than defaulting to the bigger invoice.

Heating

Furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, and air handlers. Lehigh Valley winters are hard on heating equipment, and the failures almost always come on the coldest night rather than during a service visit in October. That is the argument for maintenance, not the sales pitch.

Ductless mini splits

Mini splits solve the rooms that ductwork never reached. Converted attics, additions, finished basements, and older Easton homes where running new duct would mean opening walls. They also let you heat and cool one room without conditioning the whole house.

Repair or replace: how we actually decide

Four things, in this order.

• Age. Most systems are worth repairing well into their first decade. Past ten to fifteen years the maths changes, because you are paying to keep something alive that is also costing you more every month to run.
• What broke. A capacitor is a repair. A failed compressor on an older system usually is not.
• Repair cost against replacement. When a repair starts approaching a serious share of a new system, you are renting time.
• What it costs you to run. An older low efficiency system charges you every month whether it breaks or not.

Why maintenance is not an upsell

The same argument runs through everything we do on the plumbing side. Nearly every expensive emergency was a cheap repair six months earlier that nobody caught.

Our Health, Safety and Performance tune ups are a multi point inspection that catches the failure while it is still small, and members get priority scheduling when something does go wrong. Two tune ups a year are included on the Elite HVAC and Shield plans.

Owner Sal Sciorta holds a Master HVAC-R licence, number 9380. He is a second generation tradesman who trained in New York City under his father, a Local 1 journeyman, and spent six years with the New York City Transit Authority before founding Plumbing Pros in 2022.
