Indoor Air Quality Services in Easton, PA

Indoor air quality is the part of heating and cooling people notice without knowing what they are noticing. Dry air in January that makes everyone in the house cough. A basement that smells musty in August. Dust that returns two days after cleaning.

Plumbing Pros fits and services indoor air quality equipment across Easton, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Wilson and the Lehigh Valley, and heating and cooling across Warren County, New Jersey.

Start with the boring answer

Before anyone sells you equipment, three things matter more and cost less.

The filter. The right filter, changed on time. A cheap filter changed every month beats an expensive one left in for a year. And a filter that is too restrictive for your system chokes airflow and causes its own problems, which is a real trade off rather than a detail.

The ductwork. Leaking return ducts pull air from attics, crawl spaces and wall cavities and blow it into your rooms. If dust keeps coming back however often you clean, that is the first place to look. See ductwork.

Humidity. Air that is too dry or too damp causes most of what people describe as poor air quality, and it is measurable.

We will look at all three before recommending anything you have to buy.

What we install

Whole home humidifiers for winter dryness. Heating dries indoor air, which is why static, cracked wood and sore throats show up in January. A humidifier fitted to the system treats the whole house rather than one room.

Whole home dehumidifiers for summer damp and basements. Air conditioning removes some humidity as a side effect, but an oversized system cools so fast it shuts off before it has dehumidified, which is why a house can feel cold and clammy at the same time.

Media air cleaners, which are deeper filters that capture far more than a standard one without strangling airflow.

UV lights, fitted at the evaporator coil to keep biological growth off it. Worth being straight about: their strongest, best evidenced use is keeping the coil and drain pan clean, which is a real benefit for both air quality and system performance.

Ventilation, for houses tight enough that stale air has nowhere to go.

What we will not do

We are not going to promise that a piece of equipment will fix a medical condition, and anyone who does should worry you. What we can do is measure humidity, find duct leaks, get the filtration right and tell you honestly which of those is likely to make a difference in your house.

What it costs

Our diagnostic and assessment fee is $85, waived for service plan members. Equipment pricing depends on what the house needs and you get the number before anything is ordered. Financing through Wisetack is available from $500 to $65,000 for approved applicants.

Common questions

My house is really dry in winter. What helps?

A whole home humidifier fitted to the system, once we have confirmed the ductwork is not the cause. Heating naturally dries indoor air, so this is a common and solvable complaint.

Will a better filter fix my dust problem?

Sometimes. If the dust is being pulled in through leaking return ducts, a better filter helps at the margins and sealing the ducts fixes the cause.

Are UV lights worth it?

Their clearest benefit is keeping the evaporator coil and drain pan free of biological growth, which helps both air quality and how well the system runs. We would rather sell it on that than on broader claims.

What humidity should I aim for?

We will measure yours and tell you where it sits rather than quote a number from a brochure at you.
