Plumbing Pros provides heating and cooling to homeowners in Washington Township, New Jersey, including Brass Castle, Port Colden, Bowerstown, Changewater, Imlaydale and Pleasant Valley. We are licensed for HVAC work in New Jersey. Plumbing is Pennsylvania only.
Which Washington are you?
Worth clearing up, because it confuses almost everyone including contractors. Warren County has two Washingtons. Washington Township completely surrounds Washington Borough, one of only 21 places in New Jersey where one municipality wraps entirely around another.
The borough is the compact town centre. The township is the 18 square miles around it, taking in Brass Castle, Port Colden and the farmland between. We serve both. If you are not sure which you are in, give us the address and we will work it out. It changes nothing about the price.
If you are in the town centre, our Washington Borough page covers that side.
Two roads, two different service areas
Route 57 runs east to west through the township, linking Washington to Phillipsburg one way and Hackettstown the other, both already in our service area. Route 31 runs north to south. Between them, most of the township is a straightforward run for us, which is not true of every corner of Warren County.
What we see out here
Washington Township sits at around 456 feet with roughly 360 people to the square mile, so it is neither the dense town centre nor the far rural end of the county. The housing reflects that: a mix of older properties around the historic hamlets and newer builds on larger lots.
Practically that means two different conversations. Older houses around Port Colden and Changewater tend toward boilers and radiators, where adding cooling usually means ductless mini splits rather than tearing in ductwork. Newer builds on the open lots run furnaces and central air, where the common complaint is one floor never matching the other, which is a ductwork or zoning question. We also cover heat pumps, thermostats and emergency service.
Fees, licence and plans
The $85 diagnostic and $195 after hours dispatch are the same everywhere we work, both waived on the relevant service plans. Plumbing Pros holds NJ Master HVACR Contractor License 19HC00938000. You get the repair price after the diagnosis and before work starts, and financing runs through Wisetack.
Common questions
Am I in the borough or the township?
Give us the address and we will tell you. It makes no difference to what we charge or how fast we get there.
Can I get central air in an old house with radiators?
Usually yes, and mini splits are normally the least destructive route. We will walk the house and show you what each option actually involves before you commit.
